Does anyone have any experience of Trust online for CCJ checks ?

I need to see whether I have any CCJs but I do not want to raise the eyebrows of whoever holds my outstanding debts. I guess that if I went to the credit reference agencies, they would swiftly sell that information to the creditors.

I have found Trust Online http://www.trustonline.org.uk/ and wonder if anyone knows anything about them.

They say they deal with credit reference agencies but I wonder just how much they do. Would they sell on the fact that someone had accessed my name at my last know address and if so, would they sell on the name of the person who accessed it ? I only have a prepaid Mastercard in my name, though I could get another in a different name.

Paranoid ? perhaps, conspiracy theorist ? certainly. The 6 year clock is approaching for some I think and I would not like to screw that up. If they have a CCJ, then I'll try and strike a deal, once those that do not have hit 6 years.

Any ideas or advice ?

    Hi PA

I have used this site on behalf of a friend (after seeing fatbelly recommend it) and I would say you are fine to use it- they don't sell on any information as you could be anyone searching for CCJs in your name - another creditor for example -so there is no way of connecting the address you search for to your current address. I guess for a belt & braces approach you could use someone else's card (with their permission of course;)) but I don't think its required.

That is a credit report, using them would link him to his current address which is exactly what he is trying to avoid.
You can't credit check other people without a reason (like a bank for loan) so he can't acquire his report to see any CCJs.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
  • Sorry I didn't think about it that way.

  • Just thought if your worried about them tracing you maybe one of those new o2 money cards may help. I was looking at one myself and I am sure they don't credit check as such. I maybe wrong but it's worth looking into. That way you can do the ccj check thing and not worry.
