please help me!

hi i am new to this so am hoping that i can gain some advice. i am 30k in debt - this was debt that i took out in 2001 originally for approx 48k - it is in my name but was taken out whilst i was with my first husband - we split in 2002 i got left with the lot - he ripped me off for money on top of this but that another long and boring story. anyway we have 3 children together and he agreed to pay me maintenance for my children plus extra money to help clear the debts - in 2006 he halved this money but i still managed to struggle on - now he has left for foreign country - dont know where and obviously is paying me nothing!!! like i said debts are to 8 different creditors and i have been left with the lot. i have a mortgage on my house which i bought in dec 2003 with husband no 2 (im not joan collins!) he left in 2005 and i was then left with the morgage it was self cert and i am not able to get his name taken off the house. i cannot afford to pay a 937 mortgage and all the debts on my own have tried to apply for dmp but have been told that after mortgage utilities and living expenses i am -50 per month?
any advice would be greatly appreciated - at the moment i feel like giving keys back to mortage company and going bankrupt - i just cannot see the wood for the trees. please please help

I think you're in the wrong part of the board. A mod will probably move it so don't worry if it's not here next time you look, it'll be on the main board.

Will an extra £50 a month help, do you think, or is it realistically going to take more than that? Lots of people here have found ways to get extra money coming in. As others will be along to note (and help), you need to get an SOA worked out and put up here, then peeps will take a look and try to see what you can do.
