Didn't know of this, so thankyou!
Thankyou also, for accepting yummymummy's words and making the amendments. Correct grammar and spelling DO matter.
People can adapt via microsoft anyway, if things urk them.
Merry Christmas and thankyou again, for all your year's work and care on this site.

Brilliant calendar, but unfortunately for me, not enough writing space for appointments. Anyone know of a print-offable calendar with a line for each day, or even a his & her's line? Happy Christmas all - Jo

As the sprit of the Oldstyle board is about sharing, I would like to add a note to this thread to say that AngelavDavis was not the originator of the Old Style Alternative Calendar. It was a group effort and much of the input into it came from a team of Old Stylers who added their ideas and not just one person.

This is a link to the original thread
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1328695&highlight=money+saving+alternative+calendar
and shows that a lot of people put time and effort into it, not just Angela.

Angela – please add the above link to your first post, so that people see the whole picture.
It is very misleading at the moment as the content of the calendar was not all your own work.

    Thank you

  • Sorry Greenshieldstamp, but this was NOT intentional. I mentioned in my original post on this thread that it was combined from an excellent old thread. I have now added the link as requested to my first post. I certainly didn't intend to take all the credit.

To be honest, this is the last time I share anything online.

All I have had are complaints about the fact the calendar starts on a Monday, there isn't enough room to write on the calendar, that there are typos or inconsistencies, that people don't like the photos and want me to produce another one tailored to their individual requirements, etc etc. Clearly the calendar is totally inadequate in people's eyes.

Sorry people have had trouble downloading but I have tried from many different PCs running different versions of Adobe reader, Internet Explorer, etc (although not Firefox or other browsers admittedly). I actually haven't experienced any issues. PM me your personal emails and I will forward the file when I return from my holiday next week.

Sorry about the moan, but it has really upset me. The calendar was offered as a goodwill gesture - not a compulsory download. Sorry if it offends people.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D

I am delighted with the calendar. You gave us a gift and with any gift it is the thought that counts. Please don't take the criticism to heart. The calendar one month at a time will be pinned next to my huge calendar that I have each year right next to my computer. The other months will be kept in a polypocket till their month comes round. By the end of the year I will have completed most of the things on it and will have a polypocket with 12 months of completed assignments. A big thank you. Have a Happy Christmas:rudolf:

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • I am sorry that you are upset by what I wrote Angela. It wasn’t my intention to offend you either.
I actually agree with you. My original thread was never intended as any kind of official calendar either – it was a thread I started for ideas, and more of a perpetual calendar (one useful every year)
Why don’t we keep the Calendar Idea going, but open it back up to everyone on Old Style again for their thoughts and suggestions. Rather than sending Angela private messages (which feels a bit like behind closed doors) let’s put them all on this thread and then later in the year devise a calendar using all the suggestions then?
That way Angela doesn’t take the criticism and we have a calendar that is constantly evolving. It would stay fresh and useful that way.
Somebody who is technical might be able to suggest the best format to use for different browsers and maybe we could devise an appointments type one?
The Old Stylers are very resourceful and there are probably lots of things we haven’t even begun to think about which would benefit everyone?
Perhaps Old Stylers could work on several different versions and maybe we could ask MSE Towers to have a poll or competition later in the year to see which one would be chosen as the 2011 Old Style Calendar?

(Please note there are several other Old Style Calendars including the excellent Preserver’s Year)
Please let us know of any other links and they can be added.
