Just wanted to say what a great idea! Now I really don't want to be completely anal and not to take anything away from the amount of work that has obviously gone into producing it, but just had to mention that the few grammar/spelling mistakes in it have put me off printing it off and giving as an extra gift.

You make a fair point- I haven't read it all yet, but I wouldn't like to give a gift like that with typos.

Maybe to put a positive spin on this, you should offer to proof-read the calendar to make it easy for someone that might not have the same grasp of grammar to correct :)
  • Thank you Angela :T. It must have taken a lot of time and effort and it looks great. I will print it and put it up in my kitchen, as I am determined to have an OS year in 2010!

  • Thank you very much for sharing the calendar! It's a fantastic idea.
  • Thanks for the calendar. Very useful tips and I thought very professional.
I have saved your calendar to my desktop.
  • Just had a look at the calendar again. It suggested bringing in some wild flowers indoors. It's illegal to pick wild flowers.

A common misconception, but It's not illigal to pick all wild plants and wildflowers

Obviously I know that makes me sound reeeeeeeally sad and like I'm missing the point (which I'm not as it really is a great idea) but I'd just personally want things that promote the site and the OS ways to be 100%. It's just that little errors like that are a personal bugbear of mine.

OK, feel free to have a go now, I can take it!

Hi Yummymummy79, sorry you feel like this but I wasn't aware that Old Style was 100% perfect - I think we have all had the disastrous HM bread or laundry load?? I have just sent it to MSE after a request from Archna so they can host it for me which should make it easier for others to download.

I have asked people to give feedback so if there are specifics, let me know. I originally produced a 2009 version which is posted on the Welcome to Old Style sticky and no errors were highlighted all this time it has been available for download. The text was copied and pasted from posts on MSE. Where there were blindingly obvious mistakes or text speak, I corrected them at the time. I also had to shorten some sentences to get all the text on the pages - however, it was done at 4 in the morning.

Personally, I like the fact that it is (within space restrictions) Old styler posts - warts 'n' all. A purchased calendar isn't guaranteed grammar and spelling perfect either!

But like anything Old Style - if it isn't your thing, that is OK too!!!
