Help with annoying phonecalls please

Hi, need advice about a DCA that keep phoning. We have a CC debt originally with BOS but which was eventually sold on. The company we were originally paying lost the contract with the bank because they were not passing the funds on quick enough. There was originally 3 accounts and 2 of them were passed on to Legal & Trade whom we made a monthly arrangement and have been paying by DD for the last couple of years.
The problem is the 3rd one, Legal & Trade have never contacted us about this and through time I forgot about it as no-one had ever been in touch to say that they were now collecting the money. In March this year we had a phonecall from a company called Credit Solutions about this 3rd account and after advice I received here I sent them the letter stating that I know of no money owing to them and if they could provide me with a copy of the paperwork I would make arrangement with them to pay this account.
On the 17th May they cashed the £1.00 cheque I sent them but I have still not received any paperwork from them, am I right in thinking that as they have not sent me any paperwork then they cannot enforce the debt?
My problem really is the phonecalls, it started at about 3 or 4 every day which I would let the answermachine take but even now after receiving no paperwork or any other letters from them they are still phoning at least once every day. I never answer but it's getting really annoying.
What should I do next? do I make a complaint about them and to who would I do this? As it's in my DH's name they won't speak to me so even answering the calls they're just going to say they'll call back, he's never in when they call as he works 12 and 13hr shifts.
After sending the letter about having no knowledge of any debt to them and receiving no reply what should me next step be?
Sorry for such a long post but I really don't know what I should do next. Any help with this would be great.
Thanks.

Just to say don't be tense -you can stop them phoning.. someone here has a sample letter and I am sure they will be along soon! It's fine to ask for all correspondence in writing. They have to comply, and there is a legal act to quote about harrassment in your letter to them... that's the bit I'm not sure of.
Thiscan be fixed!!Debt free 4th April 2007.

you could try the OFT : write to (or maybe phone 020 7211 8608)
Office of Fair Trading
Consumer Credit Licensing Bureau
Craven House
40 Uxbridge Road
Ealing
London
W5 2BS
and explain that you are being harassed to pay a bill and that you have written to them asking for proof that you owe the debt (give dates etc.)
and have received no reply
also list the number and times of the phone calls if possible.0 -
And if they really keep hassling you, you could contact your phone company and ask them to bar the calls. In fact, as most of these companies hide their phone numbers when they call, just getting all such calls barred would be enough to stop them, and you don't even have to be harassed to do so. Your phone will simply have a message saying something like 'This phone does not accept calls from callers who do not identify their numbers'.0
