these guys know what they are doing.
As do you, so they are just bluffing. Without producing the CCA within 14 dyas of your request they are in default (£1 cashed or not), and without it at court they will be successful so wont try court action. Just drop them the dispute letter and wait.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
They are doing a lot of not cashing the cheques recently. 3 of mine claimed this in the past few weeks so I sent them a photocopy of the cheque stub plus a letter that they are still in default. I'm still waiting for a reply to 2 of them, but one has sent the 12+2 letter to to RBS who in turn sent me a letter with the dispute letter attached that I send to the DCA. They say no £1 was sent to them either?. Do you think I should CCA RBS now?.0

It really does NOT matter whether they 'cash' the £1 cheque/postal order or not, rebel. It is a Statutory MAXIMUM Fee which they are entitled to charge for providing the service. They are not obliged to make any charge.
The most important thing is the request - creditors can NOT ignore this, whether they choose to accept the £1 or not.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Something funny is going on. I sent the final letter and once again I get the following.
Item BRxxxxxxx1GB was posted at xxxxxxxxx on 14/12/09 and is being progressed through our network for delivery.
1st class recorded, infact I sent 3 recorded letters that day all 3 say the same, 1 to Studio, 1 to fashion world and this one to Welcome. Pointless sending letters if they are not going to accept themThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Well that was a total and utter waste of time. I phoned Royal mail and according to them my letters are classed as lost, 5 recorded letters, all sent at various times,to various companies and everyone lost???? What do I do now? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Recorded delivery to businesses is often signed in bulk rather than individually, so the branch may still have received your letters.
I would ignore the branch anyway, nirelandguy. They're only there to collect and will do very little to help. Try this freepost address, but still send it recorded:
