I buy £10s worth of morrisons savings stamps every week and cash them in at christmas or summer time to pay for an holiday i have over £550 worth at the moment as it states on the back of the savings stamp card these stamps can be redemed for face value, regarding face value the last time i cashed in £500 the woman on the information desk nearly fainted and she refused to change them for cash so i sent for the manager who promptly told her to read the back of the card were it stated can be redemed for face value the stupid woman still wouldnt accept it, so the manager took my savings card's into his office and came back with the cash and instructed the stupid woman if anyone else asked to exchange them for cash she was to do so :T.i also reported the woman to morrisons head office for her rude and nasty attitude :mad:and got a written appology :T.so dont be afraid to ask for cash if you don't want to spend the stamps on goods its like a little savings bank for me and i don't miss the 10 quid every week and iit soon mounts up:beer: :santa2:

So you provide a nearly free loan to Morrisons. (The only cost to Morrisons is the cost of printing the stamps and savings cards.)
An alternative, which pays interest, for shoppers at Sainsbury's is to pay into a Sainsbury's savings account at the tills.

Morrisons pay 'interest'. They give you £3 for every £97 of stamps. 3.1% tax free is better than most savings accounts.

MOst people dont get to the £97 mark though, I can never understand why people buy them either, just open a basic savings account, do a DD for £1/£2/£5 a week and you get your interest added no matter how small your savings are. Take the cash out when you need it
and you can spend it anywhere you like, Morrisons stamps have to be spent at Morrisons Store, we are allowing them to treat us like mugs.

Morrisons must be rubbing their hands at all this money up front, it must be hundreds of thousands of pounds per year which they are gladly grabbing the interest on
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

If you read the thread you do not need to spend them at Morrison's you can cash them in at face value!:)
