  • If he won't drink Carlsberg because they sponsor Liverpool, he's probably a Manchester United fan or an Everton fan. Luckily there's an option for each. If he's a United fan you could get him a bottle of London Gin, while a case of Boddingtons or similar will do the job if he's an Evertonian, as most blues seem to really enjoy a really big helping of bitter.

    manchester united- budwiser

That explains why I went to a dinner dance at Old Trafford recently and we were offered a glass of wine or a bottle of bud. I had the bottle. No glass. In my posh evening wear... :rotfl::rotfl:

Where does religion come anywhere near Carling and Rangers and Celtic? (except of course in the narrow sectarian minds of some of the supporters??)

Perhaps Carling are sponsoring both to keep the peace on both sides, but certainly not to 'accommodate' both religions..!

  • Yep Pinchy McWeasel- you got it; a Man Utd supporter through n through! And it's Liverpool who Carlsberg sponsor then, well you learn something everyday..

I'll go with your advise and get stella and bud cheers!

Sinw- normally wouldn't dream of buying his beer but as he's away in a warm sandy place for quite a while- thought i'd take advantage of any beer offers and treat him when he gets home-rest of the time he can sort it himself!

donnamm3- he's a Man Utd supporter and I know when i picked up Carlsberg before he threw it back on the shelf and said it didn't matter how cheap it was he wasn't putting money in the pockets of another team- my god these men take the game seriously!!

Thanks for all the replies- knew i could count on you lot to be 'in the know':j
  • if football sponsorship is important, i would go for brahma, on offer at tesco, they dont sponsor a major uk team but it may be a different story in brazil
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester.. ;)

I never said "accommodate", i said to cover. If they had only sponsored one or the other their sales in Glasgow would have but cut by half. I'm not saying it is right or wrong but it was the reason given by Carling when the deal was announced.
If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 7555
