Modroc - How Do I Remove It?

I would say try the freezer suggestion if its sticky as it works on getting chewing gum out and it sounds similar.

Apology accepted, and my angry reply is withdrawn, too.
I've got the lime based stuff out (thanks to the white vinegar), but there's something gluey left in the fabric. It reminds me of old cow gum or a mega steroid enhanced sticky stuff on the back of 1970's elastoplast fabristrip - especially when it was stuck to the teeny hairs on your knee.
I vaguely remember my granddad getting a plaster off with lighter fuel and a science teacher dissolving chewing gum with 1.1.1. trichloroethylene (whatever that was - it smelled like tippex thinner - but that's water based these days). Does anyone know if they might work?
I really really wish they had used clay or papier mache instead. I now have one day to solve it or replace it before her school concert.
Bagghhhhhh! I hate modroc!!!!!!!!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
When I want to get elastoplast off skin, I use alcohol wipes, also works on the residue of labels and stuff, so maybe get the vodka out if you dont have alcohol wipes?!!! :T

hubby said the gluey stuff is probably PVA glue and unfortunately theres not much that touches that but he did say u could try brake fluid but hes not sure what effect that will have on the jumper
try googling PVA removal and see if theres any suggestions there
xWhen you know better you do better0 -
WD40 usually gets sticky stuff off things. Test on a hidden place first in case it disagrees with the jumper.
There is also a link here for removing plaster of paris from clothes. As modroc is plaster of paris modelling bandage, this might help. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Tried sticking the jumper in the freezer to make the glue brittle, then picking it off? Works for chewing gum.Val.0

I guess its me sazzy6 is having a go at - as I am the poster who said school should replace the jumper. I also said that it wasnt the first time that art materials had ruined clothes and my son had replaced those and this was only a few weeks into the term! then they come home with something all up the sleeves of their sweatshirts (which arent cheap asda ones btw they are purchased through the school) and his partner couldnt get it out so gave them to me to try. I tried every trick in the book and COULDNT get stains out. in meantime son had asked school what the heck they used and was assured it would wash out was just a mix of poster paint. I had to ring the school and discovered the poster paint was mixed with PVA glue (and they think that washes out???????????) and no - i havent discovered how to get it out and as most of the class went home covered in it there were some very angry parents and the school agreed to supply new sweatshirts.
now you are welcome to have a go back sazzy6 and tell me how the teacher wasnt responsible!0
