Yes you do need an invite
Get Spotify Free
Spotify Free is currently in an invitation-only beta, which means you need to have received an invitation token to access the service.albionwarrior wrote: »Very sorry didn't realise it had changed:o

Yes but you don't have to get the invite code from anyone, it automatically allocates and invite code. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Can anyone refer me to Spotify please.
I've tried the websites above with no luck.
Thanks0 -
While researching for more sources of the free invite codes I noted the following:
An article pointed out that the more members spotify recruit the more money it will lose.
The royalties they have to pay to the performing rights society are crippling and there is no way they can avoid the kind of loss reported on the internet.
Therefore, consider carefully if you want to join as a premium member, pay £120 for a year and find out they go bankrupt in a few months.
Ok, if paying by credit card or PayPal since it is over £100, it may be covered at least in part by money back guarantees, and in the case of credit cards, you can sue th ecard merchant if not Spotify for non fulfilment of contract/no goods received perhaps.
Do you want the hassle though?
(UPDATED 21/3/10, LOOKS LIKE THEY MAY HAVE MODIFIED THE TERMS OF TERMINATION TO REMOVE THIS USEFUL EFFECT WHEN CANCELLING A MONTHLY PREMIUM ACCOUNT, so take care if you decide to try it).
Talking of which, of you pay for a MONTHLY Premium account, and cancel before the month is up (not in the first 2 weeks though, to be safe), the account is stated on the website to revert to a FREE account (not just cancelled /deleted into oblivion.) (NOT ANY MORE as at 21/3/10 someone correct me if I missed it)
That may be a way that some people can get a free account, if they do not have the patience to wait for the email notification from Spotify itself sending them a free account code, and do not have someone they know that has a spare invite (which Premium members get 2 of a year, to hand around).
That makes it £10 for a free account, assuming you do not let them charge you again for another month.
If you try this, I hold no responsibility if it does not work despite what the site says at present, in its terms and FAQ.0 -
