Barclaycard - Stopping the interest

Hi

My In Laws have got themselves into all sorts of financial difficuties and we are slowly getting on top of the debts for them. I am hitting my head against a brick wall with Barclaycard - they are contimuing t ocharge interest and late payment charges each month. Has anyone managed to get Barclaycard to stop the Interest accruing on their cards ????

Thanks in advance

I have managed to stop all interest and charges, but I think it took about 6 months to do this.

I just kept writing to ask them to change there mind, can only afford this much, will pay this as a gesture of good will etc, and eventually got through to them after about 4 months.

When they wrote to accept at this stage, they said they'd wait until they'd received two payments as arranged, and then stop the charges.

    I hope this helps.

I phoned Barclaycard yesterday to update them on my situation (I do this every three months and it does seem to help). Without me uttering a word they offered to refund the latest charges on my account as I've been keeping up regular payments.

So I'd say, definitely worth asking!

I update them regularly too. I think it means to them that you are serious about repaying the debt.
