Fan oven timings

I've just put my Christmas cake in the oven (bit late, I know!) and realise that I'm using a fan oven with a convection oven recipe. I've found a conversion chart for temperatures and turned it down to 120 but I have an idea that it will take less than the 4 1/2 hours in the recipe.
Apologies for seeming scatty; I'm fine with roasting in the fan oven but usually use the small oven for cakes.
Any suggestions, gratefully received.

I use a fan oven and never alter the timings, just the temperature which I reduce by 20 degrees. Never had any problems.0
