First, a quick warning, I ordered items of about £72 to use the £10 off over the weekend. Yesterday I got a dispatch email and an out-of-stock message for one of the items. This was £20. The emails said they would refund me £20- discount £10 = £10.
I was surprised by this, since when ordering from other companies, when the item is oos I still get the discount even if the total now is below the threshold.

Second, a dilemma: I ordered a bag which was described as black/ silver and the images just showed a silver bag, so I assumed the pictured the bag was the one I ordered. It cost £22 - £5 discount earlier last week. Now it costs £28 and the grey and black are actually listed under different product infos. Given my previous experience, I am thinking that if I exchange the bag, I will only get £17 back towards the cost of the grey bag (which is £28) and I will need to pay the extra £11 + postage to send back and to receive? In which case I will just keep the bag, since it is no longer a bargain. Does anyone have experience with exchanges or returns using discount codes?

    Thanks in advance.

    with ASOS,the returns are free.
all you need to do is fill out the returns form that came with your delivery and peel of the stick on label on the form, stick it on ur return package and send it. its 100% free.
and if you are not happy with the purchase, i suggest you should search for the asos page on facebook, the helpers will anwer your query almost immediately. and yes when you return an item, the cost of the discount is deducted. and you can make a case stating that the item was in stock when you ordered and therefore you are entitled to that discount. you can also bluff a bit, saying you would not order with the company ever again, because of how you have been treated especially as a first time buyer (it just might work):D

Update: The bag I ordered is now OOS, so they cannot exchange it. They suggested I return the black bag for a refund (which I assume would be £22-£5 discount). Then I can order a almost similar grey bag (which I assumed was the one I had ordered since this was grey) but for £28. This was not the solution I was looking for.

Given the first problem I reported about the £10 (off £72) being discounted from the OOS item refund, and this issue with the colour confusion, I don't think I will be ordering from them again. Which actually turns out to be the more money-saving option - spending no money at all :o

PS: Their customer service is extremely fast, I will grant them that!

Did you pick the right color from the options for the bag? As sometimes different colors are different prices.

    Hi, karenx

This is the actual bag. In the photos it shows as grey/ silver. In the drop-down there was no dropdown, simply black/silver. I decided to risk it, since they match the colours to the pics in the other bags. It's not that I am not happy with it, but I have a similar black bag and would have preferred the grey/silver pictured. But I understand I committed the mistake of ordering without being sure... the discount was too good to pass  and I decided to give them a try, since this was my first time. Then I splurged a lot more on the second order which also involved 2 bags, one of which got unfortunately canceled for being out of stock. I am getting out of topic here...

I bought a lovely top last week from the sale for my friends xmas present. It arrived yesterday in a bit of a mess! It looked as though someone had returned it previously and just thrown it back in the bag (which was far too small for it). When I received it, it looked like it had been chucked in the bottom of my wardrobe for a month it was so badly creased and mis-shaped. I'm really shocked at this as ASOS have always been fab. I would normally just iron it but it's a really delicate material and dry clean only so didn't really want to ruin it!

I contacted ASOS and they offered me 10% off my next order. I've told them I'll send it back- then I'll buy a (hopefully) immaculate new one with the 10% discount + free postage and returns but it seemed a bit stingy to only offer 10% off a future purchase when they have such fab deals on... hey ho I still get a brand spanker for 10% off!
