Hello

Apologies if this is the wrong place - it's a general credit score question rather than loans in particular, but I couldn't see anywhere better.

How far back does your credit history actually matter? I was just looking at my credit report on equifax and was surprised to see that it gives five years of detail for everything. I thought for credit card type factors it was only one or two years that showed, and five years was how long it took CCJs etc to drop off. I'm not talking about major problems here, just the odd missed payment - never more than 1 month in arrears.

  • Six years is what they say. Some stuff is disregarded after three years. Some stuff is disregarded if it is less than a certain amount.
