This was called foreign earnings deduction and it was abolished many years ago.
The rule now is that you need to be out of the UK for a complete tax year (6 April to 5 April) in order to be exempt from UK tax on your overseas earnings.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0 -
I know a few chaps working in Kazahkstan, Sakhalin etc who very deliberately restrict their UK time to less than 90 days. I don't doubt what has been posted above (as I have no experience) but there has to be some reason why they do this I would have thought?0

Yes, they do it so that they remain not resident in the UK. But you have to establish your non-residence status first.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
