Just recived my reglazed specs from Selectspecs, excellent service. New lens cost just £20

You are lucky, my experience with Selectspecs was a nightmare. Glasses were defective, I returned them several times (at my cost) and they sent them back each time not repaired. I finally asked for my money back and they said I was too late. They then said I could send more money to have the defective glasses delivered again. Notice you can never get anyone on the phone at this company and no address but a mailbox...Stay away from Selectspecs, a real scam. Those who were successful were very very lucky.
  • I've just got my first pair of online specs from http://SelectSpecs.com]Select Specs
I ordered a pair (13TH May) that looked identical to the pair I had just broken.
I sent them the broken pair (so they could measure the PD) together with a photocopy of my prescription.
I paid £42 and got back on 22nd May my new glasses (and the old broken pair of varifocals) They fitted just as well as the previous ones but of course not being scratched at all they are much better.
Communication with the company was excellent. They notified me when they had posted to the glasses and they arrived the day after.

You were very fortunate. I agree their delivery is prompt however they did not fix defective glasses after several attempts. You have to pay to send your defective glasses back each time. I finally asked for my money back and they said sorry your too late, send more money and we will send you the same pair back. If you have a problem, these people will not follow through and will not talk to you. Call their number, you get nothing but an email address. This is an indication of their real service. Stay away from Selectspecs. Very frustarted customer. These people need to be reported.
  • I agree with all the above - you'll be hard-pushed to beat UK prices. Plus, what if something went wrong with your US ones??

I got two pairs of glasses from Fashion Specs Directfor £19.90 - delivered! Hard to beat that it the USA - even taking into account the exchange rate!:D

Another lucky customer. I returned a first time order several times and they did not fix the defective lens. I finally asked for my money back and they said sorry, you are too late. They told me to send more money to have the same defective pair redelivered. You cannot call anyone in this company. There is no service, only someone hiding behind email. You may get lucky or you may end up very frustrated and out a couple hundred pounds like me. Stay away from Selectspecs.

Count yourself fortunate. They sent me a defective pair to begin with and after several returns (at my cost) they did not repair. Told me to send them more money to deliver the same pair back. Local optician said they are defective and should go back. They have no real customer service and hide behind email. You cannot speak with anyone. These people need to be reported to a better business bureau. Stay away from Selectspecs.

One of the OPs should look into this thread, it seems to be populated with lots of spam posts in my opinion.

  • I had been needing to replace my glasses for ages. Finally found some I like in a highstreet optician, and the price? close to £600 with thin 1.74 lenses.

Selectspecs didn't have the glasses I wanted so I bought the frames from the US via Amazon.com. Saved 1/3 off the frame price (about £200). Then sent them to selectspecs for their reglazing service for £100.

They took a bit longer to be delivered than I'd hoped, but when they came they were perfect. Dead chuffed with the price and service.

Apparently ASDA instore opticians have done some great deals including high-index lenses - 2 pairs for £90!
