We can't keep delaying this Great Depression, It's going to happen sometime.

I wonder if Tim Berner Lee knew that when he invented the internet, he'd be helping us to take all the sandwich board wearing "end is nigh" crowd off the streets....

Jolly decent of him, helps the pedestrians get around no end.

Now that the crash has come and gone - what is the purpose of hpc.co.uk?

Has it just become a place for scaleded STRs, and others who missed a great buying opportunity to come and lick their wounds?
  • I wonder about how long this forum will last TBH. If we have seen the end of the crash, the end of the recession and a stabalising of the economy then what is the point of this forum continuing? Well, apart from being a place for us to hang out and chat.

People who believed that we had reached the end of History, and that everything would be dull and stable from hereon in, always got a rude awakening sooner or later.

It amazes me to see how many negative people you can get in one place. A lot of the members there don't want to consider being realistic, its all about being miserable and sour for some reason.

You have to factor in the average Brit's OCD with property, which dictates that this board is likely to be in rude health for sometime.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

If we have seen the end of the crash (I have my own view on this, but I'm responding to the OP's post, not expressing my own views) then surely there will be nothing to talk about other than the flat movements of the average house price.

Martin could rename this board to the "The House Price and Economic Stagnation Board" I suppose and we could argue whether haliwide figured showed a +.2% or -.2% seasonally adjusted MoM figure. Rivetting! :)

Only for the next year.... Then the mainstream forecast is for 27% rises between 2012 and 2015. Nice...
