porting your mortgage

We sold our house in November and have 3 months to port our mortgage before losing a substantial amount of dosh. We didn't bank on buyers being so awkward and lack of houses and are now desperately worried about losing our money. Does anyone know of any way to extend the porting period or has anyone ever done this?

Unfortunately it's unlikely that the bank will extend the period allowed for porting. Speak to them though and at least you will know where you stand.

You may get 6 months. If you put your case forward and ask really really nicely.
They can do it, it depends if the powers that be want to do it!
