Getting money back after remortgage completed

Hi all. Just wanted to get some advise. I have today completed on a remortgage and now have a 3 year fixed deal with Natwest for 4.39%.
It also happens to be the day that my monthly mortgage repayments go out by DD to my now old mortgage lender.
So now that I have completed and am no longer with Nationwide, should I be entitled to get that monthly payment back again from them? I did call them and they were not very clear at all. They did say though that the monthly payment money has not yet appeared on their system, but nor has the funds from Natwest - I know these things can take a few hours to go through.
I have received about £900 from my solicitor as this is the difference between the redemption figure from Nationwide and what Natwest have lent me.
Any ideas what happens in this type of situation? If they were to include the last payment, I should have received a lot more than £900, as this figure was given to me a few days ago as the most up to date figure. So what I am essentially saying and hoping to have answered is the payment I have just made should not be included in the final redemption figure, so I should be entitled to that back in full.....is that the case?
