Mortgage help

Could anyone help me on the following, waiting for Halifax to come back to me.

We moved in to our new house on 8th December. Our mortgage for our old house was with the Halifax, as is our new mortgage.

I have just checked our bank account and a payment has gone out to the Halifax for our old mortgage amount under the old mortgage account number.

I was not expecting another payment on this old mortgage as i thought that when you completed on a new house and mortgage the old account was closed off.

Any help would be great

Get in contact with them, and they will refund the money straight away

Thanks herbiesjp, my bank recalled it and its now back in my account ready for the correct payment in a couple days. Phew!
