Decorating a student house...on a budget

Hey all,
I'm tryin to Christmas-ify my student house, with the aid of my 4 housemates. We live in a fairly big 4 bed house but mostly have our own 'personal' room decorations and are lacking something nice for the living room, and I think I've managed to work out the Xmas decorations fairly cheap coming overall at £20.99 for:
> 1.8m Xmas tree, Argos (£9.99)
> 20 Xmas lights x2, Poundland (£2)
> Tinsel, Poundland (£1)
> Baubles, Poundland (£1)
> Angel/Star, Poundland (£1)
> Streamers (4 pc), Poundland (£1)
Can anyone think of a way to do it cheaper? I suppose I could make a paper star, but it's not always as pretty. Maybe Primark might be cheaper for tinsel or baubles?
I'm so excited! I absolutely LOVE Xmas :T:T:T
Cheers for the help guys! And, although in advance MERRY CHRISTMAS

When I was at uni I used pound land and I also made those paper snowflakes and paper chains that you make as a kid and hung loads of those from the celing hope that helps
Merry christmas to you tooSealed pot challenge 18750 -
I was in my local poundland yesterday and their stuff is fantastic!!!
We hang string from the corner of the room to the central light - once it is filled with xmas cards it looks really nice
I have collected pine cones and dried them out them rolled them in silver/gold glitter and placed then in clear vases and on a platter looks gorgeous.
You could make paper mache baubles and decorate them or even have a look in charity shops for baubles/tree decs.
Freecycle worth a try too you might get someone with a box of stuff they dont want xxDebtFree FEB 2010!Slight blip in 2013 - Debtfree Aug 2014 :j

When I was in poundland they had small trees, maybe a couple of these instead of the argos one?0
