Christmas puddings

I'm doing canapes this New Year and was thinking of doing mini Xmas puds in a muffin tin and cooked in my steam oven.
Does anyone think this will even work and would just foil over the top be sufficient?!
Has anyone done/heard of anything similar?
I don't want to do individual pudding basin sizes (ie size of a small fist) but smaller. I'm even thinking of doing it in a mini Muffin tin to be smaller again?
All advice and comments appreciated!
