Haven't your management submitted a rider to the venues? This should normally include a bit of food. When I used to tour rep we would put out cold cuts and bread for the support acts so they had at least one decent feed.

    What about a buyout?

Have you got a Boots advantage card? They are always giving away points or doing double/triple points - I used to buy my lunch with my Boots points when I was skint! Plus you can put your card in one the the machines instore to see what offers are on, I get free stuff sometimes with that.
  • How about earning a little extra cash busking, play song that everyone will know you should be making a fair bit, remember not to leave alot of money in the bucket as people wont feel sorry for you and give you money.

but chaek out the legalities in each town before you do this

Yeah, you could be onto a good earner with busking, my bro used to be in a band called the Buskateers, they used to busk regularly and made a packet, some days they would pull in £200+ if they were lucky!

What about trying to get somebody to sponsor you? Just for the food side maybe. Perhaps a local supermarket, burger king type place or some such. For instance there must be a Tesco or macdonalds almost everywhere in the country. Many supermarkets have cafes in store. Maybe they could sponsor a meal in each place you have a gig. You could ask a local paper to either help find a sponsor, or give some publicity - cover the story - if you manage to find one. Its nearly the 'silly season' when news is in short supply, they might be glad of the story.

Be brave phone them up. Offer to play in the supermarket or something in return. Maybe one day you'll be big enough to return the favour.
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

If you are visiting a food shop everyday (due to a lack of fridge freezer), checkout the near-date expired shelf, which is just fine if you are going to cook it within a few hours, and can save some money. Also check through the telecoms section on here, to see if you can save some money using an alternative to an expensive mobile.

Also check out this recent post on FreeCycle. You might find that you are able to pick up some of your touring kit (camping stove, BBQ, tents) for free?
