evening all, i have just bought myself a hi-dome prestige pressure cooker. i have a mincey thing in there, but im not sure what its supposed to do when its working right??!!
i put it on high, lid on.. the safety valve started hissing, but i cant SEE any steam... it said i would see steam. no steam is coming out of the weight bit.. i left it for ages as it said something would go up and seal it but nothing has changed, so i ran it under the tap and released the lid.. lfood ooked like it was cooking..
put it back on again and its just still doing the safety valve hissing..no steam that i can see.... its turned down to the lowest setting on the hob now...is this right??

Have the rings on the weight risen at all, if all three have risen its at full pressure and needs turning down very low.Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw

Its always a bit worrying with a new pressure cooker, I kept turning the heat down too soon on my new Tefal the first few times and losing pressure. Got the hang of it now, bit like watching paint dry the first couple of times, watching it to see what it's doing.Woofles you need to get out of that house. You are going insane:eek: - colinw
