Mortgage Advice

Currently my partner and I have a joint tenancy agreement where we pay equally into the mortgage and would have an equal share of any proceeds on the sale.
I am looking at investing some of my savings against our mortgage but would like to understand how and what I would have to put in writing which would enable me to get back this additional payment before the remainder of the mortgage equity is split equally on the sale of the property?
Thanks

To do this, would would have to see a solicitor to arrange the legal papers.0
