anyone know where I can buy a dyson cheaply? I've had terrible luck with vacuum cleaners so hoping that a dyson might be better

Try here: Reconditioned Dysons0

6 month warranty! Part of the joy of dyson is the 5 year guarantee, and they have excellent customer service when things do go wrong. Reconditioned machines have 6 months for a reason, they are part worn, and as such shorter life. If you can afford it, get a new one. Try any of the currys etc discount codes on relevant board0

Saw this dyson from dixons for £194.29.
Apparently this site says it used to be £274.00 so that's quite a saving if that is the correct price - http://www.pricecuts.co.uk/products/dyson-dc27-all-floors/

I would avoid the reconditioned ones too - as hungrynurse says the 5 year warranty is well worth having. There is a list of cheapest Dysons at the unofficial forum https://www.dysonforum.com which might be worth checking out. We've got a DC14 which has served us well and it's the cheapest upright model now as its one of the older models but still does a great job.0

I wish I'd never bought my dyson. Its the most cumbersome thing and weighs a ton. Avoid a reconditioned one. I'm a cleaner and you really can't go wrong with a Henry plus their about half the price. Meile ones are good too!0

I was using my mums old Vax and thought it was great. I bought my DC14 a few weeks ago and was mortified at what it picked up!
They are certainly a worthwhile investment!!
I paid £198.99 from Curry's. Cheapest at the time
I looked at reconditioned ones but the warranty was what swayed me!0 -
In my opinion they are the best vacuums out there. I have had my old DC04 more years than I can remember. It's used almost daily and never had a problem with it. It's worth paying a bit extra for a new model for the long warranty. When I worked we had a Henry there and I found it a waste of time, I got more bits up using a dustpan and brush!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

If you or someone you know has a costco membership I saw dysons in there yesterday but didn't note the price - might be worth a look.0

I would not touch a Dyson again, I have had two and they are the biggest pain around, messy to empty and heavy, both mine gave up sucking after 2 yrs.
I clean for a family at the moment and they have a wrap around Dyson, the pipe is too large, the bits fall off the back and is throws dust everywhere when I have to empty it.
I have been a cleaner in different places for over 10 yrs (even Centre Parcs)and have always used a Henry (I have one at home too) and they have been brilliant and the smiley face is fun too.
