Amazon FRANCE - Philips BluRay player for €1 if you buy 10 Blu Ray discs

Hi

Amazon _France_ (NOT AMAZON UK!) will sell you a Philips Blu Ray player for €1 if you buy ten Blu Ray discs at the same time. I have had a quick read and can't see any restrictions on shipping to the UK, though I imagine you will have to pay extra postage. There are enough BluRays in the offer to get the lot for about €150.

Obviously you will also need to change the plug, but the wiring is the same.

The details are here:

The eligible Blu Rays are here:

I haven't tried this, and probably won't but I thought people might be interested.

  • Whenever I buy an electrical appliance, I seem to get instructions in: English, Francais, Deutsch, Svenska, Espanol etc.

    Will Amazon.fr delivery here?

Amazon.fr on the whole do deliver to the UK - I have ordered DVDs from them before and there has been no problem. EU law also says something about you being able to do this, but there are restrictions, and I do wonder whether something you plug in would be covered by this (eg they'd be breaking UK law by selling an electrical appliance without a UK plug, but then again I remember people ordering their Wiis from Amazon.de a few years ago)...

As for the BluRays being in French, yes, that's true, but 99% of the time they will have English soundtracks too.

It should do - the whole of Europe is Region 2 for DVD and whatever the Blu Ray region is (ie all French DVDs/BRDs will work in a Spanish/German/British player)

Lol, yes, France do have European plugs..it is us that don't. ;)

I bought a wii from France a couple of years ago & then bought a plug adaptor from ebay to clip over it....i'll go & have a search now to see if I can find one.

I have ordered from Amazon.fr before..not sure exactly about the postage...can't remember, but it was similar to here..just a few pounds I think.

Edit: Here you go.....you just pop the plug inside, screw it down & hey presto, you have a UK plug. :)

Far less b*ggering about would be to buy the Panny blu-ray player from Amazon UK and get, funnily enough, 8 free blu-ray titles (OK, 7 of them are by redemption). I have this player and it's bloody fantastic (you can apparently play youtube through it but I haven't connected it up to my router yet so can't confirm how this works:
