Beware LoveFilm - charging whilst on 'free' trial

I have just moved over from screenselect for this trial, I had the same email saying 2 month gift etc.

I went to my account and under payments it says

So I am hoping thats good for me but I did join yesterday so I dont know if it will change tomorrow cause of the weekend.

Prehaps you other guys should check under my account and see what it says.

But have noticed under the terms and cons - it does say they will charge if you have had a free trial before inc screenselct

FREE TRIAL
A free trial is available to new DVD Rental subscribers only. Existing subscribers, or those who have previously enjoyed a free trial period with any member of the LOVEFiLM group of companies (including ScreenSelect), or any website powered by LOVEFiLM or Video Island are not eligible and will be billed normally for use of the service.
The free trial is available only once to one member of a household. Subsequent free trials by the same person, or at the same address, are not permitted. You may receive a free trial in respect of only one membership level. Subsequent free trials of different membership levels are not permitted.
At the end of your free trial, you will automatically become a paying member unless you cancel your membership and return any of our discs in your possession BEFORE the end of your free trial. For further information please see the section on "Cancellation" below.

I just called them and said I wanted to cancel because I was with screenselect sometime before and I dont want to be charged for the trial, someone looked at the account and said as far as we can see you are eligible so its all good, give it a go and see what they say, the end of the day the agents will prob get a bonus for keeping you and will most likely end up allowing you the trial anyway.

My screenselect is only pending been cancelled at the mo so that might make a difference over lapping them a bit. (and I was with lovefil before but prob with a different email)

Just got this back from thse cowboys:

You will be notified immediately upon sign up that you will be charged if you do not cancell the account within 30 minutes. Due to the afore mentioned factors we cannot offer any refunds. "

Of course I got no such notification. As I said, beware.
