M&S Food?

Hey. Anyone ordered food from M&S food to order service?
We are catering our wedding ourselves (with help from in-laws) , and been looking on their website. The prices seem quite reasonable, and you can just pick it up the day before so would be a lot easier. Does anyone have an experiences of them,, or anything similar? Thanks x

I really like Iceland's stuff for parties, I think it would be OK for buffet food at a wedding and 3 for £5 is great value. I love M and S aswell but prefer the cheaper stuff for the price xxMarried the most amazing man 05/12/09 and it was the best day ever, I'm a Mrs, he he!!:jWins 2009: Peroni Alessi bowl woohoo, 1 in 10 wins DVD from Maltesers, Avon lippy!!!Freebies-Bold Gel, CoffeePinecone Research - £9Mystery Shopping - £150

WHat sort of food are you looking for?
Seriously - consider Costco. The food is gorgeous for functions and it's really reasonable too."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I'm with Tiger, Icelands party food is great for the price, they even do big trays of sandwiches now, although I don't know how nice they would be once defrosted?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0

M and S look like good value on paper but IMO they are dear for what they are especially considering other stores do food that tastes as good and look as good just cheaper. Lie a few others said I would probably just stick to Iceland as i don't think you can go wrong with thier stuff. If you want to go more up market why don't you ahve a look at sainsburys, they do a service like M&S where you can order platter of things in store, go to customer services and they will give you a book. HTH x0

Have Costco got quiche ? Can you go in and pick up or do you have to order it?0

I just had a look at waitrose, although it looks like its slightly more expensive, it does feed more people per platter. So £12.50 for 6-8 people is actually quite good. Looks a nicer selection too!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0

Costco do everything!
I was in there yesterday and they do frozen quiches that are catering sized. They do large catering packs of mini quiches, etc you just defrost and go. vegetarian spring rolls and samosas etc, also platters of sandwiches, sliced meats etc. you can pre order or just select from whats out in the chillers that day (The one at thurrock has them to take away all the time) They also do things like pre cooked ham joints that are pre sliced.
Really nice quality food.0
