Your phone bill is higher than my annual bill for myself and teenage daughter.0

I know. It's never been that high before, but now i've moved away from home i'm obviously using the phone much, much more. A simple call to T-mobile has hopefully capped this at £35 a month now.Prudent wrote:Your phone bill is higher than my annual bill for myself and teenage daughter.0 -
Hi there
Ive never heard of the bank not being able to take charges that you have to live on, and Im an avid reader of the CAG, I suspect I would have heard of it
Anyways, MASSIVE  to you from me, welcome to us here at DFW and well done, it seems as if you are well on the right lines, but of course an SOA would be great
Love
Lynz:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Well done with the phone block, was going to suggest that, remember it takes them sometimes a couple of days to get the details but helped a lot with my partners. Also if you are on contract maybe negotiate a better inclusive deal. One day I might be more organised...........

GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
I think enough people have told you what to do in the future to improve things, what you need is some help THIS month. Last time I was literally broke (funny how no-one ever believes you when you say you've got nothing isn't it?) I sold books to a second hand shop. You don't get as much as you would if you sold on Amazon BUT- its cash in hand and instant, which is what you need!
Also, do you know anyone you could offer to do babysitting for? Or could you put a card up in a local shop? You'll need good references, but you can earn as much as £30 a night cash this way, and it tends to be quicker than getting a "proper" second job."People who "do things" exceed my endurance,

I'm really lucky that my parents bailed me out this time... so this month I've got enough so long as I start proper moneysaving. I'm not getting anything more off them so I'd better be good.
Day 1 (well weekday 1) started well. Porridge for breakfast with a lump of jam... all stuff I had already (and cheap to replace), and then a nice homemade cheese sandwich (well 3 actually). Pretty cheap (had cheese already, bread 99p but it was late last night).
This month is going to be a real economy month through necessity, next month will be the first one where I'll have the temptation of money to spend (at the beginning anyway). I'm walking home (~1 hour) to save the tube (£1.50) - just think that is £30 a month, or DOUBLING the minimum payment on a credit card by itself! What a load of money I've been spending without realising it.0 -

I think it would be a great idea to post my SOA (is it that?) on here. I'm not in a disasterous situation, merely one where my money is not being used in the right way. Hopefully this can change from now on.
Hi Plutos - I think there are quite a few people in a similar situation trying to be proactive before they really get into trouble.
Glas you managed to get something sorted with your parents.

The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0 -

Be careful of that, though - there have been several cases where supposedly phones were blocked and the person merrily continued calling only to have a serious shock when the bill arrived. The phone companies of course disclaimed all responsibilty. Maybe it would be safer to change over to a PAYG?0 -

I've actually not been blocked, I have just changed to a plan that would have sufficed for all my calls over the last couple of months without anything on top. Either way, I'm keeping a close eye on the bill online so I don't go over0
