Hi all,
Ive just got an online quote for car insurance through Adrian Flux, its just a "hypothetical" quote because I wont be getting the car until a good few months into the new year but I was curious.
It is a very good quote and im excited about getting back behind the wheel!!
Anyway, Ive just realised that ive noticed seeing a topic on here saying that people who are BR will struggle to get car insurance.
Is there any truth in this at all??
If it is true, does anybody have a list of the BR friendly insurers???

Hi. I've just had to buy a little cheap runaround for work and managed to get insurance ok (they just wouldn't let me spread the payments) - having said that they didn't actually ask any questions about BR? Wierdly I was only looking to insure third party cos the car only cost £400 but it turned out cheaper to go fully comp ! Strange !!0

Hi, yeah im thinking of getting a run around to start with to keep the costs down (although if it breaks down i will be !!!!!!ed)!!
The thing is, if they dont ASk about BR then is it a case of dont tell or will they find out anyway???0 -
Most providers will cover you but on hearing your bankrupt will insist on Payment upfront first (for some reason they think bankrupts are an untrustworthy bunch)
someone did say a while back confused.com or something similar (may have been money supermarket) cant remember...has an option to tick if your bankrupt
Usually the rule of thumb is if they dont ask they dont need to know..BUT with insurance always treble check as no point you finding out at a later date somewhere in your policy is wording stating your invalid if you didnt tell them of your bankruptcyWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
So am I right in saying that they do a credit search on you before they accept you due to the instalment plan???
Thats the way it seems to me?0 -
I just had a quote from money supermarket, compare the market, confused etc (I searched 5 of them in total!) and didn't see that question. Now, when I get further than a quote I will search for that option !philnicandamy wrote: »someone did say a while back confused.com or something similar (may have been money supermarket) cant remember...has an option to tick if your bankrupt

Hi
I dont know if they ask on car insurance, but my HOUSE insurance is with Bradford and Bingley and they do ask about bankruptcy. Accepted no problem and paying by installments.

I just dont want to get excited about being able to drive again and then get a bombshell at the last minute!!:D0

Maybe try going through application and get a quote-let us know how you get on!0

Thanks for that kerry - it is home insurance that most people have trouble with. Glad you can pay in installments too.Hi

Hi kerry,
I cant do an actual application yet because it will be in the new year when I finally get the car so ive been doing online quotes only.
When I eventually get the motor I will post what happens re the insurer!0
