Credit Check Excellent but problems

Thanks for the posts. The problem was that O2 put in my address wrong the first time and any subsequent attempts failed as it was flagged by the credit check system. Still not pleased as it toll the company over a week to get back to me about this and the initial wrong address that was entered delayed my purchased for two weeks! Crazy that I pay for O2's mistake.

Good that you got it sorted out.
Anyone else experiencing the same probs - I think the people doing the credit check have to give you the *main* reason why. i.e. not just that you failed the credit check, but what the main reason was. Then at least you have somewhere to start checking.

Also, just because you know you're on the electoral roll, etc, don't assume that the credit references have got this information correct. You need to check the information and correct it where possible. Experian didn't have me on the electoral roll because my local council used a different variation of my address -this cost me a mortgage with Northern Rock. They also don't have my credit card. My bank tells me that they pass the information on, Experian say they haven't been given anything. Luckily Abbey didn't seem to mind so much and gave me the money!
