That is a great price for a Wifi Player with 16gb!

Some of the review mention a poor battery life for streamed content as low as 3 hours for streaming audio. This might have been fixed with the July 2009 firmware update.

I noticed that on HD there was a Sony 16GB (no wifi or BT) for £49.99 with Sony Cash back. You pay Amazon £69 odd and claim the £20 from Sony. T&C linked on the HD post. There is also a BTSony for around £70 after cash back on HD also.

Thinking of buying one for my 12 year old..can someone explain this bit of description please.

Does this mean it connects to the INternet wirelessly?

Only thing to be aware of ..this is the "old" Creative X-Fi , there is a new model now available , the X-Fi 2, is lighter, has a bigger screen and also a touch screen. Amazon are also discounting it but not by as much,...obviously they have old stock of an "end of life" model to shift, hence the price, albeit it is a good price for the functionality...just as long as you don't want the latest model

I much prefer the iTouch for smartlists, apps etc ...but of course you will pay a lot more

This is WAN LAN as opposed to Wi-fi, does that just mean linking to you home computer to transfer you media files? Or can you open a window & browse the internet, ie. check hotmail in a cafe?

It's just for streaming media, the only other thing it has is instant messaging
