Ideas for sister and new partner?

After congratulating myself on being organised, I am back to the drawing board with my sister. I wanted to get her and her BF something joint for their new home as they have recently moved in together. After some probing i found out the colour scheme of their living room and got them some nice cushions. I finally visited them and discovered their new puppy has a taste for all things fabric! From the look of the old cushions I am replacing the new ones would have a life expectancy of about a week!
So I am thinking the cushions can wait till next year when the puppy is older!
Now I am stuck trying to find an idea which is not going to attract the teeth of a little puppy but still be useful for a new home. Annoyingly I was not allowed to peak in their bedroom so I don't know what colour scheme they have in there to get them a throw or light or something like that!
Any suggestions of something you would find useful in a new home?

I'd still give them the cushions. If it were me in my new home, and the pup had chewed them, I'd want some more. But I'd know to keep the new ones out of the way of the pup and learn from the old ones!0

Buy a chew toy like a nylabone for the dog so that they can appreciate the cushions without teeth marks.Thankyou to all the posters of competitions :beer:0

you could go with a neutral coloured lamp or throw, ikea's ones tend to be fairly non colour schemed. I've just moved in with my BF and we have asked for a bath mat and loo mat for christmas, some pot plants, a nice big mirror or a tablecloth.
my mam has got us a wok set with sauces, and chopsticks etc, and my nanna got us a tea and coffee hamper with biccies and hot choc, sweets etc.
Hope that gives you some ideas. It only takes a second to say 'Thanks, you just saved me a few quid!'
