Money Saving Wih Money off Coupons

Hi - has anyone every noticed - that the more coupons for money off in tesco/asda - the more you spend on items that maybe you could really have done without.

Well - I for one have noticed this and so for the past 4 weeks have been putting into a jar all the money that I have saved using coupons on my shopping - which by the way most of I now do at Aldi - to save money.

So far I have accumulated £14 in my jar and at the end of each month I am going to pay it off my credit card - as I think its a much better way of reducing my monthly spend in the long run - if I can reduce my credit card faster.

So why not join in and start putting into a jar/piggybank/box every penny that you save on money off coupons - and then at the end of the month use it to reduce your credit cards - it may just save you buying stuff for the sake of it - just because you have money off coupons too.

Good luck becoming debt free everyone

You do know you can often put coupons for anything towards any other product, except for coupons from the store brand (ie, provided it's not a Tesco printed coupon etc). So, typically you can use a coupon for super-duper deluxe 20-ply gold embroidered loo roll for your value beans. But, depends on the checkout operator - most are quite good.

Best to do it with a larger shop anyway, and if they refuse to take them ask for the coupon back and try again another time, don't let them keep it. Coupon barcodes typically start with the digit 6 but I think Tesco printed ones don't but double check that.
