How to get credit checks removed from my file...

Hi all,

I have NEVER had credit before, and here is my story!

My boyfriend wanted to change my car, and took it to a dealer. They said they would like him to finance the balance over a 3 year term, and asked for my details. The finance company turned me down...

My boyfriend applied for an argos card for me to try to build a credit history for me... that got turned down too!

I did have a mortgage promise given by halifax before all these declines.

I'd like to know, as i wasnt present for the 1st two checks, how to go about removing them off my file. It isnt totally my boyfriends fault, as he was only trying to help me get a history built up, but i am very worried that when i put my mortgage application through, that halifax will say no as ive been refused credit twice within 4 months.

If it were that simple, everyone would remove the searches from their file before applying somewhere else.

Not a lot you can do. Credit applications were made in your name with your consent. Why did your BF not try and get credit himself? One of the reasons why you got refused is due to not having any credit history.
