Which is the mortgage that allows a guarantor to offset their savings?

Hi,
A friend of mine is a bit stuck. She's split from her long term boyfriend, he has found somewhere to buy, they had accepted an offer on their own house and were due to complete last week.
Due to a one week delay, they haven't completed on schedule, and their buyer has now pulled out (found somewhere else).
She's desperate to sort things out, as they can't bear living together any longer. I remember reading about a guarantor type mortgage, where the guarantor's savings were offset against the mortgage, is this still available as I can't find who it was with? This might allow her to take on the mortgage of the current property, allowing her partner to get on with his purchase and move out, then she can work on selling the property to a new buyer.
She has someone who could act as guarantor potentially and this type of mortgage would be a good option. I just can't remember who it was with, or even know if it exists any more. Please can anyone remember?
Thanks.

I sounds like Lloyds Lend a Hand. I suppose they could have called it Lloyds arm and a leg.
