Tax relief for looking after an elderly relative??

Although I was born in Asia I came here in the 80s and am a British Citizen now. My elderly mother (in her 70s) has no relatives back home and I’ve sponsored here to come and live with me. Obviously she has no means of income (doesn’t claim any state pension) and I provide everything.

Someone said to me that you can make a tax claim for the expenses relating to looking after her as I am the sole career. . Is this correct?

Yes I am working full time.

Any ideas??

You should ask the question on the "benefits" board - I don't think you get any tax relief, but you may be eligible for benefits.
