Is it good to talk talk

Hi folks

I was just wondering if anyone had had this new talk talk broad band thingy installed yet?
Is it any good - are they all they are cracked up to be?

I'm off work next week and I'm thinking of switching from ntl to talk talk. ( i pay as much for ntl phone as the phone and braodband is with talk talk) Unless of course they price match.

Just interested to hear about anyone's dealings with them......

Why don't you look on the telehones board, I think that there are some threads on the offer there. My In-Laws have opted for it, but they were with Talk Talk anyway, I have not heard anything about how good/bad it is.

have heard (on Radio 4, I think) that it is so over-subscribed that you could be waiting months for it. a victim of it's own success.

It's over-subscribed at the moment as they are offering free / cheap Broadband.. trying to run before they can walk,,,

  • Its okay until you have a problem! The call centre is in India somewhere and they don't understand a word. My mum ordered broadband and for some reason no one could get it to work, so she sent the box back and they agreed to cancel it. 8 months later she was still having it taken from her bank account! After hundreds of phone calls that amounted to nothing, she cancelled thw Direct Debit, and within 2 hours they had blocked all outgoing calls.

Some 50+ calls later to India and a month with no phone, the line was reconnected (they tried to say it was a fault on the line. Funny how it received incoming calls and could call 0800's)

Anyway, now she has the hassle of obtaining the monies already taken and has contacted ombudsman about it.

However, I had a smiliar experiene with Homecall taking money from my account. I've come to the conclusion it ian't worth the £5-6 a month you save and I've gone back to BT!

First of all you need to have a BT line to take advantage of the TalkTalk offer so you would need to transfer from NTL to BT. Best suggestion to you is phone NTL and get through to retentions and NTL will reduce your current package to keep you :)
