If you have a tkmaxx close to you have a look there, they are often way below the rrp. They'll keep drinks hot for about an hour.

I've had a Sainsbury's own brand from (surprisingly lol) Sainsburys - was fine, but after a year of daily use got a bit ott on the tanin deposits on the sides, so threw it, and replaced it with a insulated tall mug from Robert Dyers which is equally fab - it's not a Thermos branded one, can't remember what brand it is (it's not on the product was only on the label), but has a handle and a flip over bit on the lid to close it all up (I always drop mine and it never spills either - fab!).

Mine keeps my tea hot for longer than an hour - I make it at about 7.45am and only get to drink it at about 10.45am, and it's still warm then.

    They are fab!!

I'm sure I've seen these for sale in Morrisons near the Thermos type flasks. Wilkinsons also sell them.
  • Sainsburys online have one for £4.99 - that's the cheapest price I can find.
  • i got one at tkmaxx for 2.99 recently and it's great
  • My dear hubby uses one nearly every day when he is working, I had a couple from Tesco (not Thermos branded) but the rubber seal went after a few months so it leaked. He now has a Guinness branded one we bought in Dublin and its still going strong after a couple of years. You can get cheapy ones in the poundshops sometimes but they probably won't last as well as a branded Thermos or similar.

Starbucks also sell their own branded thermos type drinks flasks but I've never looked at the cost, probably expensive but you get 25p off your drink if you use it each time you visit.

I prefer the ones that are stainless steel rather than plastic inside. Current one from oswald bailey, think it was £6-7
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • they do them in morissons and in some of the cheap shops like poundland. the ones that have metl inside stay hot longer. i have one with plastic inside and one with metal. if it is just for a short time go for the cheap ones if it is for longer invest in a good one.

They save a fortune and it's great when it's freezin out and you have a steaming hot cuppa

The ones from Starbucks will leak a little if knocked over. I've got a Lifeventure one (see http://www.amazon.co.uk/Life-Venture-Lifeventure-Thermal-Mug/dp/B0018BNX3G/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=sports&qid=1260219054&sr=8-3) - this keeps drinks hot for about 5 or 6 hours whilst sealed. Also they don't leak at all.

    Hope this helps.

Can't recommend Wilkinson's own brand. I had one and the insulating part came adrift from the outer after a couple of months.

Mind you the bit that is left works great as a scoop for bird seed.
