the bods on the Techie Stuff board seem split on which free AV is best, but seems
Avia, AVG and Microsoft Essentials (MSE) all get better ratings than norton:o
and MalwareBytes aswell:cool:
My husband is a software engineer for a web development company and the tech guys that run their network say Norton isn't that great. They recommended Kaspersky for us. We got a 3 user licence 2010 edition for around £25 on amazon, cheaper if you only have one computer.
It does slow the computer down a lot while it's updating but I've set it to do it at a time when I'm not using the computer much.
I stopped using AVG when it let in some nasty virus that took my husband days to sort out.0 -

BuyCentral
As you may be aware, BuyCentral suspended their program on all sites on 19th May. We have now been notified that due to 'poor quality' leads, they will not be paying for any of May's transactions. We have tried arguing the case that their site was offering 'poor quality' search results - but this has not been taken into account! Therefore, we are unhappy to have to let everyone know that ALL BuyCentral clicks, and ALL Comparison Plus clicks from May will be reversed. It is very disappointing when we are let down by retailers like this.....we can only apologise.

I am not sure if this is still valid, but if you have a Barclays account, register for internet banking and they were offering free Kaspersky licences valid for 3 users.
I did this through my DH's Barclay's account last year.0 -
