On a mission

So, I decided to sell the house! And have found a house to rent :j
But, I need to do some work here so this afternoon I have been on a complete mission. I have been quidco-ing and so far have £126 in the pot, also today is 10p listing day on ebay so I have gone through my house and am listing like there is no tomorrow. My mission... to get the new carpers and paint for my house all from the ebay proceeds, plus enough money to replaster the celing in my hallway and a few other odd jobs. I am determined not to spend any money I don't have on this. This will be a DFW style renovation! It's amazing how much cr*p I have in this house, cr*p hopefully someone else will want. I have started with a ton of DVDs and a laser hair remover??? never used, that my brother thought would make a fantastic gift (um, it wasn't). It's a shame the post office don't do 10p posting days to match ebay.

Ebay tip- advertise everything as second class unless its too heavy & has to go first. It certainly tipped the balance for my buyers I think. Dont be afriad to price to sell - ie less than its worth- a "bargain" and do Buy it now on them. I sold tonnes this way, it really worked.
I also dont want to take the wind out of your sails with the house renting thing as you know I think its a briliant idea, but do check with the LL whether you are allowed to run a business from the property on the tenancy.
126 in the pots on quidco - amazing. Give me some tips. Ive not even made that in months, what have you been doing!! Great guns!!!! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

This Ive come to know...

Hey lyn,
I did tell the landlord about the business and she was the one who said that it would be ideal because it had the study (office) next to the semi converted garage. She showed me around today so we had a good chat about it all. I even asked about what telephone lines were in and as she had actually lived there what the neighbours were like.
Thanks for the ebay tips, I will do that for sure, the way I see it pricing to sell gets money in my pot and stuff out of my house, win win.
Quidco, well, I did loads of surveys on an old yahoo email add. This is maybe a bit naughty because I plan to sell my house but I did the powergen transfer (which actually does save money on power in the short term while I wait for the sale) So that made £30. I signed up for a couple of the bingo sites, I am having a no grocery spend week this week, living out of the freezer, so I gave myself £40 to spend on the £10 joining things. I did the ones with £30 quidco cashback. I also signed up for 2 betting things. I bet on 4 horses with my £10 and 3 of them won LOL so I made money there too (£78 in total) which actually made profit on my original £40 of joining fees. I have no desire what so ever to use any of these sites again, I actually found them really boring and choosing horses is too much like hard work, I had to research where to put my money lol.
I will put the full £78 in my savings because I was planning to spend £40 on joining the sites and not spend on groceries. £126 from quidco will go in there too. So in one day, without any ebay money I have £204 towards getting the house ready. And the great thing is it feels like my money and not the creditors because I know I will be paying them off really soon, so my saving this is for their good as much as mine.:A
