Plus points :
1) Managed to spend only 35 quid on next weeks shop, only need fresh fruit and veg from the market. That includes nappies so pleased with that (usually never less than 60).
2) Managed to persuade hubby to cancel National Lottery subscription :j
3) Managed to persuade hubby to cancel Sky and we're now on FreeSat which cost just 20 quid for the card and we have all freeview channels :j http://www.freesatfromsky.com
4) Managed to rework my snowball to take off nearly a year from our DFD.
Bad Points :
1) Found out hubby thinks there is a problem with his tax code and company cars which could cost us a fair bit (current estimate takes us from having 11 pounds left at the end of each month to have -100 or less.
2) Interest rates went up on both of our cahoot loans
This put our DFD back a month again.
3) Found out my insurance on my car has gone up due to driving into a skip a while back
4) Don't really know how much hubby is going to be paid (things have been a bit up in the air with tax and raises and cars etc) so I don't really know how accurate my budget or my calculator is which has depressed me slightly as I've spent the last few days manically calculating figures based on what he told me, only to find out it was an estimate!
<takes deep breath> I will get there

you can always ditch that stupid cahoot loan. My OH has one and they just seem to put the interest up whenever they feel like it. Hes moving the balances on to 0% cards - might be worth a thought, when you have five mins
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

:rotfl: Sorry, just mirth at the thought of anyone giving me any credit atm (especially 11k) Would be a nice idea though if they would

Hiya,
Know how you feel about tax codes, company cars etc, I got about 6 new tax codes in the space of a week earlier in the year, seemed they couldn't sort out my new car and then it transpired that I owed tax from the last 2 years, that my company had not dealt with and so I'm paying it all this year, so my pay rise that I got in december turned out to be a whopping £40 a month when it should have been much more! hardly worth all the sweat and tears I put in to get it! I'd spent bleeding ages working out all my calculations too, had to start all over!
You're doing really well though and it'll all get sorted out, then you can really knuckle down and get sorted

What an incredibly STUPID thing to do.......
.......says the person who REVERSED into a skip a few years ago
. (Yes, I DID look in the mirror, but only for cars, didn't occur to me to look out for skips
.)
Seriously brassic, you've really got a grip on things, well done & keep up teh good work (and watch out for those big yellow things.......)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

They have legs you know, and jump out to get you at the last minute
Seriously, my last part time job (which I was doing at the time) was driving stretch limos about London - so I was fairly suprised/embarressed/furious to find I couldn't even park a bloomin' citroen xsara.

I haven't, and I would be
However, I have rather optimistically applied for another current account with first direct since I am trying to claim back charges from my current account, and because I want their 50 quid plus the referral fee from that website whose name I can't remember atm
So if that goes through, maybe I'll have a reassess. Thanks

Hey Brassic,
Sounds like you're getting yourself organised. Hopefully the tax code issue will get sorted & won't be as bad as you fear. My boyf has had similar issues as he changed from having a company car to getting a car allowance, & nothing seems to have caought up yet.
Oh, & I have also reversed into a skip! It was dark, & it was a mini skip so didn't see it in the rear view mirror. It was the first time I had driven with boyf in the car so you can imagine what a typical woman driver I felt!
