What to get my 3 year old girl??

  • The 3yo I have to buy for will be getting either a baking set (big mixing bowl filled with kid-sized utensils, a pretty apron, lots of pink sprinkles and cake toppings, and butterfly bun mix etc) or a 'craft kit' which will be a pink storage box filled with paper, colouring books, pens, crayons, Playdough and stickers etc.

There's lots of cheap children's books around at the moment, so you could maybe get her some of those?
Despite the name, I'm actually a laydee!

Why don't you get her a play kitchen. You've bought her a tea set, so that should tie in nicely.

If shes already got one, how about a dolls house, littlest pet shop, or small sylvanian families house?

A wheely Bug, the big one, looking online for a bit, I got one for my god daughter for under £50.

I got it for £49.99 at Amazon (free postage)

Have just ordered the Peppa Pig phonics electronic toy for our 3yo DD.
Looks pretty cool and should help with reading once they start in reception.
Should be something they can do themselves, which is a definite bonus with a younger sibling who needs attention!

Out of stock in Amazon, but woolworths.co.uk had them for £20. Free postage if you spend £30 if there's anything else you need from there. 8% cashback through topcashback, which makes it the cheapest I've seen it.
  • How about some play silks? They are fantastic for encouraging imagination rather than toys where you press the button it all happens and then the fun is over. My DDs are 2 1/2 and 5 and they both love theirs. We have different sizes,
enormous ones to put over the table to make a den or to lay on the floor to make a sea
medium sized silks that they use to make capes so they can be wizards/princess/ghosts etc,
the really small ones are used as blankets for dolls, as washing to peg on their washing line made of wool and loads of other things.

Alternatively in a MSE line you can always buy the silk and dye it yourself using food colouring. If I can manage it anyone can.

As you've got two of them, how about cherry blossom stores. Amazon, are currently selling for £37.37, see here.

Its quite a versatile toy, my two tip theirs over to make a 'pirate ship', other times its a house.

    Hey,

I also have a three year old and have listed her fave toys below, which may give you some ideas. They are all electronic, learning toys! No 1 is a laptop and a fave with all her friends. There are several other good laptops sold at ELC for 3yrs+, which are very reasonably priced:

    1. VTech Disney Princess Magic Wand Laptop
    2. VTech Kidizoom Plus Digital Camera for kids
    3. LeapFrog Leapster2 Learning System

buzzillions . com is quite a good site for ideas/reviews and you can search toys according to age.

Wishing you have a fab Chrismas

I agree with this - my sons are 9 and 7 and they still love their materials box! They make up all kinds of performance plays when their friends come round. It was a big hit when we went camping with lots of their friends borrowing them to be princesses, kings and queens, roman gods with togas....

My daughter is nearly 3 and she has asked for a pink piano, trumpet, dolls house and playdoh which I have got, as well as a CF player with microphones, a pooh game, pyjamas, jigsaws, book, backpack for nursery and other few bits for her stocking. I had bought a few other things but will keep this back for her birthday. There are lots of ideas out there as I could still spend more money but not going to. There is the hugh aqua draw mat if they like drawing or toy hoover etc. good luck

  • How about hitting the pound shop to get some colouring books, pens etc? When the items are all wrapped up separately it looks like a mountain! Plus you can get things like her favourite knickers, socks, pj's, which saves you buying those things at another time.
