I think she's trying to give herself an advantage in the stars stakes... or just be mean to those of us who like to wait to put our trees up.. just because she's got a forest in the house
... there's no way I'm putting a tree up yet. It'll shed all its needles before Christmas!

Evening all,
So many people going through tough times. Hope you have someone close to give you lots of hugs when you need them. I'd love to post more personal replies, but I've already spent so much time catching up (and I was only skimming through!).
My Christmas tree won't be up until the weekend at the earliest. At home (Germany) Mum and I used to buy ours on Christmas eve in the morning and put it up after lunch, so I can't quite get used to decorations at the beginning of December. DS2 keeps asking about it, though, so I can't make him wait much longer. DH is away at the weekend (Friday am-Mon pm), so the plan is to finish painting DS1's room and blitz the LR, then maybe the tree can be sorted Sunday night. The rest of the house will have to wait.
My own list for today (red is done):
get papers ready for DS1
get to school early to catch up on paperwork (not early, but still managed to complete stuff in time)
read work e-mails
send e-mail to German assistant re meal on Thu
finish meeting on time (no later than 4.15)
HH putting washing away, so DH doesn't have an excuse not to iron
doctor's appointment at 5.45 (did about 10 minutes, but he ironed anyway)
DW x1
Wm x2
TD x lots (to finish drying towels I'd had on the airing thing all day)
collected DS2 from friend's before appointment
on way to appointment, DS1 phoned and asked me to pick him up from MIL's (her treatment is still not sorted and doctors seem to be contradicting themselves, but she won't let me go with her or talk to anyone)
sort amazon order and source cellophane/sugar crystals for reindeer food
finish lists of presents bought/still needed in case I go shopping on Wed
write flylady Christmas cards
hopefully find out transfer date to DS2's new school - not yet
Wednesday's 'must try to do's':
WM x 2
DW x 1
TD x as many as needed to finish drying stuff
decide about Christmas shopping tonight (won't have anyone for DS2 until 5.40 - a bit late)
sort amazon order and source cellophane/sugar crystals for reindeer food
finish lists of presents bought/still needed in case I go shopping
write flylady Christmas cards
hopefully find out transfer date to DS2's new school
sort copying for clerical assistant for Thursday morning
phone parents x2
finish marking Y7 assessments
finalise arrangements for meeting up Thu night
give address of restaurant to German assistant
put recycling bin out
give my beautiful birthday flowers/plants fresh water
remind DS2's teacher about Christmas card list and ask re transfer date
start DS2 on his Christmas cards
wash hair
draw out money for hair appointment and meal on Thu
sort tea
Off to do some GCSE marking - mock exams, and I can't wait to see how they've done. Also need to do one Y7 assessment before bedtime. Did someone say sleep is for whimps? I don't know what happened to time tonight!
Take care, everyone. :A0 -

Thank you toots. Could I be included on the ironing challenge too?
I don't know what it is, but I just don't feel like Christmas this year. The kids don't have room to keep anything, I don't need anything, there's been loads of hassle and, quite frankly, at the moment, the magic is completely passing me by.
That and the waiting for the result of my OU exam/overall coursegrade for the one I finished in October. Getting OCD checking for the results, as other courses have been getting their results early. Bet I have to wait until the 18th December, which is their promised latest date fro results.
But the BF is finally showing sign of recovery from Swine Flu and seasonal flu and is hoping to be fit to make the drive back by the weekend. Such a long time for him to be away. He's apparently stopped smoking because he's been too ill to manage it (:D). So he's also been coping with the moodswings and the lungs expelling the nastiness that gets shoved down there when someone smokes for 30 years.
Seeing as he has apparently lost loads of weight, he's going to turn up here and be the spitting image of his skinny rock musician brother, take one look at my humungeous carcasses and run back away again.
I'm going to bed.
Bah! Humbug!I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Morning All
Well the TD is on and when that's finished I need to iron some trousers for DD as she fell over at school yesterday and got her uniform covered in mud apparently - I haven't seen it yet as she cam home in her PE kit and left her uniform - including her shoes - at school. So I need her other trousers and cardi which were in the wash basket from Monday. Kids are still in bed, DH won't be home until tonight so it's just me at the moment.
We had the dress rehearsal in front of the rest of the school yesterday afternoon - well what can I say - it was slightly better than the morning:rolleyes: - parents are coming to see it this afternoon and tomorrow so today I'll probably be stressed out!loopy-loo73 wrote: »I can't keep up with the thread so I hope i don't appear rude to anyone if I just post my list once a day ... hopefully i will eventually be able to read everyones news but right now i don't have time - sorry
Loopy - lou - you don't have to apologize - there's always lots to read - it's fine to just post and run - or if you do want to know what's going on just search for Toots' posts as she always mentions everyone:D.Money_saving_Diva wrote: »
