I want my camcorder tapes putting on dvd

Options
I know some say its easy to do yourself but I have spent a fortune buying different leads, different gadgets and still havent managed it. I have 21/2 years of footage on both video and disc camcorders that I want putting on to a dvd, there is also one of the tapes has snapped and I wondered if it could still be saved. I know with the old video you used to be able to selotape them back together.

What connections do you have on your camcorder, better still what is the make and model of your camcorder.
Do you have a firewire connection on your pc ?
Do you have any video editing software ?
  • no idea on snaped tapes but re tapes to dvd do u know anyone that has a dvd recorder that way u play the tapes though the tv and record on player
  • I've got a video player hooked up to a dvd recorder and it records ok (VHS). Originally I had wintv that allowed me to do it on the pc but it was a lot of mucking about though you could play the camcorder into the pc with this method and record.

There are a lot offering this service susi. Google "video to dvd" and you'll be spoilt for choice!
Two and a half years worth will cost you, but priceless I bet.

I do mine with a tape converter, VHS player and DVD recorder.

I would have thought you could go straight from the camcorder to the DVD recorder though.
