Free case of Laithwaites wine

I am hoping someone can help, I have a voucher for a free case (just pay £6.99 p & p) for laithwaites wine. However Laithwaites seems to be a wine club, and I don't want to join a club. However from reading the small print it looks like I can cancel the subscription after I have received the first case, is this the case? Does anyone have any experience of doing this?

The small print:
IMPORTANT FUTURE CASES: I understand that, every two or three months, I will be notified of the next Discovery selection, which I will automatically receive unless I request otherwise. I will be charged the appropriate sum for each delivery - currently £79.99 (plus £6.99 p&p). I have no commitment whatsoever and may cancel my Discovery membership at any time. Furthermore, if I do not like a wine for any reason, it will be collected and I will be refunded in full.

I got the introductory case from them as it was a special offer price (although not free - lucky you!). When it arrived I phoned up to cancel and they were fine - think they are used to it.

Yes, you will have to cancel the subscription over the phone but it is very simple, they will just ask you why you want to cancel. Well worth taking up the free case offer IMO!

I think I have this voucher - but the way I read it is that you get a free case when you buy one.

It came with an Amazon purchase.

You'll have no problems cancelling with a quick phone call. My Wife and I have joined 3 of the Laithwaites regional wine clubs like "4 seasons" over the last 2 years and cancelled after the first case. The staff are always really friendly and non-pushy when you call.

I used to work for Direct Wines and you can definately cancel at anytime. You can simply send them an e-mail to cancel if you want rather than calling them. Their philosophy was once you try the wine you will go back for more even if you don't continue with the full price cases.

i have been with laithwaites a few times , have cancelled without difficulty after taking up there offers , last time i cancelled after an offer case and they delivered another case i didnt want , i just rang them and someone came and collected it , no charge. i must admit though i found laithwaites wine to be so delicious (every bottle i have had) i wish i had your voucher for a free case !
virgin wines i found to be less palatable and more expensive , if i was you i'd grab it while you can , then call them and say you dont want to be sent any more , very helpful people on the phoneline i found

I managed to cancel fairly easily. However, the wine was not very good and two bottles were vineagery. I contacted Laithwaites because I wanted these two bottles exchanged or my money back. Instead they gave me a 20 pound voucher which was only redeemable on much more expensive wines. In future I'll go to my local supermarket!!
