Changing small denomination Euros to £

I wasn't quite sure where to put this, I hope its the right forum.
My husband has given me 3 x 5 euro notes, and 5 euros worth of change - he got it as a rebate after a trip with work.
It's about £12 worth, not a lot I know - but they messed up his wages this month so we're still waiting for an extra £200, so £12 would be a big help.
However, I don't know where to change this, one the web it says, that banks and post offices don't have to accept other currency change, and the post office doesn't accept small denomination notes.
Does anyone know if I can change this back, or will I just, have to put it in a draw somewhere incase we go away?
Thanks Laura

Are you sure the post office won't do it? My local one let me change the US$ I had left after my last trip and I know it wasn't more than about £10 worth.0

Post Office will do the notes. I dont think that 5 or 15 euros will be a problem!0

You'll probably get a better rate if you can change it with somebody you know (work, friends etc).0
