clever haggling website

I saw on the news recently a story on a website called Haggle4me.com which works a bit like an online auction by pairing up potential buyers with hagglers to find the best price for any item on the web. You list what you have found & a best price and pay nothing unless somebody manages to find it for £20+ or cheaper, in which case you give them a portion of the savings. Seems to be pretty user friendly & got to be worth a shot, especially on larger items....

This Haggle4me.com site seems like a very good idea indeed. Has anyone got any comments (good or bad) about using it?

I read this too. Forgot about the address. In the paper it seemed to have a very unbiased positive review so Im guessing it is good.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"

see my comments on this thread - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=187502.

It's an extremely expensive way of doing things - unless you search for the cheapest price yourself first (to avoid paying too much commission) - which kind of goes against the whole point of it in the first place.

I think that as a haggler, this is a good site. There is the chance of earning a bit of extra money for very little effort. However as a buyer, I don't think it's great; it's quick, free and easy to search on sites such as Froogle, Kelkoo, MSE, etc etc. So I don't really see what value this site adds - although I guess some people are not very web-literate or just can't be bothered to look for themselves
  • I've just made a listing on the Haggle4me website for the 1st time.
I'm after a Panasonic DVD recorder. It'll be interesting to see what the 'hagglers' come up with.

    Keep smiling, Wilf.
