Transfer of Equity process?

Could anyone help with this one - I keep asking my solicitor but they never answer this point. Does anyone have any idea roughly how long it takes to effect a Transfer of Equity on a property - it's from my sole name to me and my partner so that we can take out a joint remortgage.
Thanks very much

It should take a lender a couple of weeks to agree a straight forward case and then a couple more weeks for the solicitor to do the legal work.0

In fact, we took it straight to our own solicitor, approved by the building society, to save time as we'd been warned that if the lender uses their solicitors it's a much slower 'cos they don't pay them terribly well... so hopefully, we may have cut the process to a couple of weeks...0
